Don't Be Scared!!
Hey guys - I heard through a little birdie that some of you are scared to present your projects to the public. No need to be (easier said than done right?). You all have some really great work and I know you are all still working on the project so I'm sure more is to come. Mr. Kirsch is right, all artists have to publicly present their work at some time (alot of times) during their career. Whether it's at an exhibit or to a gallery owner etc. it just has to be done. The thing to remember is you're taking photos for yourself. Sure, not everyone's going to like your stuff, but who cares! If you're taking the images that you feel strongly about then they are a success. I can't tell you how often I've entered a photo in a juried art exhibit or contest or whatever and it's been rejected numerous times. And then, magically it'll get accepted to something. Art is subjective we all know that. Just go with your gut and don't worry what others think. Life's too short! You'll all do great on the presentations. We'll practice Friday and then practice again next Wednesday and you'll all be pros!

Great Work Over Break!
Hi All- Great work on taking photos over break. I know it can be tough to get motivated but you guys really came through. I was really impressed with a lot of your work and your thought processes. I'm going to look at everyone's blogs today and see what's out there. If you don't have stuff up, please try to either get it on the blog or have some prints on Wednesday so I can take a look at your work and we can figure out how much more everyone needs. Remember, first deadline is less than a month away. I know, we're all procrastinators but if you're like me once I get a deadline, it motivates me to get it done! See you Wednesday!

Okay All - I want you to have a fun and safe break but - I want you to photograph too! This project has gotten off to a great start - I see a ton of potential in all of you. You have really been thoughful about your proposals and seem to have a grip on what you want to photograph next. So..all that's left is to actually take some photos! This should be fun, don't be stressed and just photograph things that mean something to you and go along with your proposal. It's really important we get some images in the next couple of weeks since once we come back we've got to be moving on the project to get it done in time for 1) publicity in the local media and more importantly, 2) the exhibit/book we are doing. I'll see some of you on Wednesday painting. I'll also be blogging you over the break if you have Internet access check it out. If anyone gets stuck and wants to talk to me call me. (Mr. Kirsch has my phone number) or email me.

Great Job on the Project Presentation
Hey All - Just wanted to tell you again that I thought you did a fantastic job with your project presentations. I know you all put a lot of work into it and it showed. I was really impressed with the thought processes and how many of you have refined your ideas to make them even more "you." I can't wait to see what you all come up with and am thrilled to be helping you any way I can. I'll be commenting on all your blogs in the next day or so and feel free to comment back - or if you'd rather email me directly to be private that's cool too - my personal email is cpanebianco@madbbs.com. I'll respond either way. Remember, I'm here to help you get through this. Tell me what's going right- going totally wrong - if you're stuck - if you want to learn something - I'm here to help. Have fun and take photos!

Finally Rid of the Technology Virus ( I think!)
Okay, all - sorry for the lack of blogging and feedback. I've been in the midst of a massive technology glitch. I think that I have had bad technology karma for the past two weeks. But eating a lot of chocolate and drinking a lot of Pepsi has purged it from my system - I hope! Anyways, I have been checking out all of your blogs and I already see some amazing stuff. I'm really excited to see where your projects go from here - I think there is some real photographic talent just waiting to come forward. I know everyone's working through the "beginning of the project blues" but just by taking photographs and writing about what you feel about your life, you'll see your projects start to take shape. As we go along, I'll be seeing you in class but I'll also start posting comments to your individual blogs whenever I can so make sure you keep posting your photos. Keep photographing!
